The first thing that I noticed after getting the car home was it’s attractive styling. With sleek curves, a distinct, modern aesthetic and clean, crisp interior, I honestly can’t think of a single complaint so far as flair goes. The interior was even multi-toned, a simple touch which still gets compliments from friends and passengers.

Aside from attractiveness, the 2010 Chevrolet Malibu hybrid works near-perfectly, as well. As time has passed, I’ve found that the gas mileage isn’t quite what I thought it would be, but it’s still considerably more efficient than any car I’ve owned in the past, getting roughly 30 MPG on average.

Also, I find it to be noteworthy that the Malibu’s occasional switches between gas and electricity are noticeably more streamlined than in the other cars which I took time to test drive, considerably detracting from the clunky feeling which usually comes along with hybrid cars. While the Malibu drives unusually far, it also drives unusually well. The power steering is like floating on a cloud, and the cruise control makes otherwise tedious trips practically effortless.

I’ve come to the conclusion that I’ve never really experienced anything quite like driving the Malibu. This might have something to do with the fact that I haven’t purchased a new car in five-odd years, but my point still stands. All and all, the 2010 Malibu Hybrid is an excellent car. It’s even better than any of the hybrid trucks I’ve driven.

If you’re looking to pick up a hybrid, I’d recommend it over all others, especially considering that I spent nearly three solid weeks sampling nearly every alternative. To sum it up- it’s fast, it’s clean, it’s green, and it drives like a dream.

The full hybrid

This hybrid car is awesome. If your hybrid car can propel forward when it’s already going at low speeds, you might own a full hybrid. But it must be able to do this while using no gasoline whatsoever.

The parallel hybrid car

This hybrid car has a fuel tank that gives gasoline to the engine. During this time, batteries give power to a motor that is electric. The two motors give off energy that works to propel the car forward.

The series hybrid car

In a series hybrid car, a generator is turned on by a fuel engine. And the generator does one of two things. It can either work as a battery charger for the motor or charge batteries. A break thru in hybrid cars finally came when Robert Anderson developed an electric powered car in 1839. It was the first among its kind. The car was built in Scotland.

This electric car was a highly applauded innovation of its time. However, the only problem was that it was very difficult to recharge the car’s battery. Some pioneers came behind Anderson, but they too had a hard time getting the battery to recharge easily.

Finally in the year 1898 Porsche came out with an electric and fuel combustion engine that was the first of its time. The car was called the Lohner Electric Chaise, and it could go up to 40 miles just using batteries.

Soon pioneers combined both a gas and a battery powered engine to power what would become today’s hybrid car. And in 1999, Honda made a leap into the US market. It came out with the Insight. This was a lightweight two-door hybrid. Since then, hybrid cars have just been evolving and improving into what you see on the markets today. Hybrid cars aren’t just for people who are complex and want to combine battery and fuel power to get them where they need to go. Hybrid automobiles started out simple, and they are still simple today.

Now hybrid cars are becoming more and more popular as people understand them more. Hybrid cars in the 21st century saw a boom in sales when the Toyota Prius came out on the market. It was the first hybrid with four doors that was marketed in America.

Hybrid cars are more expensive than conventional cars

We all try to buy the best fuel efficient vehicle out there, but can we really take the family around in a compact car? No of course not.

Should I get up each morning looking for the cheaper gas prices in the area?
Does this really sound like a reasonable question to ask yourself? You will most likely waste more gas than what you end up saving at that particular gas station.

Should I find a way to run my car on batteries?
How far do you think those batteries are going to get you before you need to recharge them again. With a hybrid car, you won’t have to worry about that. Therefore, the next question should be obvious.

Should I purchase a hybrid car?
In my opinion, it’s the most likely solution to came up with. Buying a hybrid car would be the most sensible way to save money on gas. Unlike conventional cars, hybrids don’t depreciate when you drive it off the lot. You save more and more money as you save on gas. So buying one of the hybrid automobiles might be the choice to make, but do your own research just to make sure.

Hybrid cars are the rave when it comes to buying a new vehicle. especially now that they’ve made sleeker models that are available in many cool colors. When you really look at the characteristics of the hybrid cars, how could not want to run right down to your nearest dealer and buy one. I’m sure we are wish we can do that, but before you go ahead and do that, you should know a little more about hybrid cars.

A hybrid vehicle runs on electricity. Well not entirely, it does have a combustable engine that works in unison with the rechargeable battery of the car to get better fuel mileage.

Unlike the electric cars that were introduce years ago, the hybrid doesn’t need to be “plugged in” to recharge the battery. Instead the combustible engine generates a kinetic energy that charges the battery while the vehicle is in use. The engine spins a electrical generator. the spinning does one of two things in the process. One, it charges the battery in a more direct way and two, it gives power directly to an electric motor. Automakers are calling this the car of the future because of the innovative way it powers itself and the ability to save it’s owners money on fuel. Each year more and more consumers are buying hybrid vehicles.

So if you want to save money on gas then maybe you should invest in on of the many hybrid automobiles. You might find yourself visiting the gas station a lot less.

As with any commodity, gas prices go up and down, it’s a never-ending cycle that seems to on without much relief in sight for us. If you think about it, it’s not the situation, but how you think about the situation that counts. Look at your options, you have more than you might actually think.

Owning a hybrid car will help you fight back against the high price of gas. if you were to purchase a conventional car and then buy a hybrid car, you will begin to see that you will have more money in your wallet immediately with the hybrid car.

Do you like throwing money away? I hate to do it. Comparing the two, conventional and hybrid, owning a conventional car is like throwing money away, with a hybrid, that’s not the case. You get nearly 40% better mileage with a hybrid than you would with a conventional vehicle. A hybrid automobile will help keep more of your money in your pocket.

There are so many different makes and models of hybrid vehicles that I’m sure you’ll find one that fits your style and taste. The least efficient hybrid vehicle still gets at least 30 miles per gallon and with numbers like that, you will definitely keep more money in your wallet.

When people think about the plug in type hybrid, they figure that the vehicle is great for the environment. The car doesn’t burn any fossil fuels and leave no pollution from it’s exhaust. As a matter of fact these types of hybrids are no better than the electric assisted ones when it come to the green house gases and the ozone layer.

Why do I say that a vehicle that doesn’t burn fuel and leaves any emissions would be as bad as one that does? The reason I say that is because of where the plug-in hybrid gets it’s power from. Think about it, the car needs to be plugged in every night to recharge it’s batteries. The electricity that the plug-in hybrid cars use to operate usually comes from coal-fired plants. So there really isn’t a difference between the two hybrids.

Of course there are still people out there that believe that the plug-in hybrids are better for the environment that the others. People who insist plug-in hybrid cars are better for the environment also say that plug-in hybrid cars don’t really need a lot of electricity to power them. They recharge their own batteries. So the need to plug into an external power source is minimal.

Either way you look at it, a hybrid vehicle is the way to go if you’re one of the million that want to save this planet. Hybrids are a better choice than going with the conventional type automobile, but don’t think that this will be the answer to it all. It’s definitely a start though.
